2016 Changes

As we say goodbye to 2015 and welcome a new year, we look to the wisdom of our leaders as we reflect on what 2016 will bring. Gandhi said, “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” Heraclitus, a philosopher from 500 BC, noted, “There is nothing permanent except change.” Lastly, “This is a new year. A new beginning. And things will change,” Taylor Swift. And did Swifty get it right — we’ve made some changes that we’d like to tell you about. Without further ado, here we go!

-Remodel at State Street-

You might’ve noticed that we’re closed the first week of 2016 – talk about a way to start your year. Not opening our doors doesn’t make us too happy, but we think you’ll be happy with what we did. The reason we’re closed is because of a store remodel. The bathrooms are getting a complete makeover with a pretty awesome 8-bit video game theme. We’re also introducing the Rotoflex Pizza Oven – this should take our pizza-making capabilities to a whole new level. (We’re spinning with joy – no seriously, you need to see this thing!) Finally, we’ve tiled and rearranged the cook’s area so we can make their lives a bit easier.

-Side Salads-

Ever glanced at our salad bar, then looked at the pizza and found yourself in a tough situation because you couldn’t quite make up your mind? With the new addition of side salads that problem will no longer exist. We’ve added two new small salad options to our menu, both of which will pair perfectly with your favorite slice or serve as a healthy snack.

The two options available will be the Caesar side salad and the Ian’s House side salad. Both salads will be $3.50. The Caesar side salad will feature romaine lettuce, one organic farm fresh egg, house-made croutons, grated parmesan cheese, and our own Caesar dressing. The Ian’s House side salad will be made with mixed greens, onions, cucumbers, and tomatoes with a suggested dressing of white balsamic and herb.

-Party Size Salads-

Another change in the Ian’s salad world is the addition of the Party Size Salads. They are bigger portions of each of our standard signature salads (Southwest, Wisco, Greek, Garden, and Caesar) — enough to serve 8-9 people. They’re perfect for staff meetings, office department lunches, and of course just about any party! These new party size salads come packaged with plates, napkins, and utensils to ensure an easy way to feed your group. The Party Size Salads are also cost effective, with the price ranging from $20-$30. (See menu for individual salad pricing.)

-Side Sticks-

Our friends at Ian’s Pizza Denver and Ian’s Pizza Milwaukee introduced us to a new style of sticks–let’s call them Sticks 2.0! They are bigger, badder, uncut and they definitely caught our attention. We tested them out and gathered feedback from our staff and customers and determined that these sticks would be a perfect fit in Madison. Sticks will come in a variety of sizes – single stick, 3-pack, and a 9-pack (party size) so there’s an option for just about any customer. No need to worry – sticks will still come with the signature dipping sauces.

-Minimum Wage-

One of the most significant changes in 2016 will be the change to our hiring wage. We’ve made the conscious decision to increase our starting wage to $10/ hour. It’s important to us to ensure that our employees have a liveable wage and are compensated fairly. This change is also something we thought would help attract and retain the best candidates and employees.

-Slice Prices-

Finally, as we enter 2016 and release our annual menu updates, we’ve also made the tough decision to raise the price of our slices by .25¢. We ask for your support in this price increase, as 100% of that revenue will help us bring wages up to a $10/hour minimum for all employees. To learn more about our decision, please click here.
