Congratulations on your engagement / birthday / company party / Arbor Day extravaganza and thanks so much for thinking of us! We think that pizza makes every celebration better, and we truly believe our pizza specifically will make your celebration the best thing ever.
People have a lot of questions about having Ian’s at their event, so we’ve gathered our intel and will answer some of the most common ones here.
Q. Where can I find your catering menu?
A. No specific menu, you can just order off our regular menu — please check out ianspizza.com/menu for the pizza and salad options at our Milwaukee locations. They are all available. If you want appetizers, beverages, or desserts that we don’t offer, we can work with local providers to get those. We’ll also coordinate equipment rentals for you if you need that too. Heck, we even have DJ service recommendations!
Q. What does it cost?
A. We don’t mark up the food, so it’s the cost of whatever you order plus labor and any other expenses required to execute your event. If we bring in food not offered on our regular menu, set up our ovens on-site, or get more involved in coordination there will be higher labor fees. If it’s more like a ‘corporate lunch’ or ‘late night snack for a wedding’ where we drop food off and go, it will be less expensive. Really, it’s up to you — ask to see some recent invoice examples. Since every event is different we are happy to work with you on a closer estimation of labor hours required! $10 per plate is a good way to estimate labor expenses when setup, serving, and cooking is required.
Q. Do you provide plates, napkins, cups, and utensils?
A. Paper plates, napkins, Eco cups and utensils are provided free of charge. Salad tongs and dressing squeeze bottles are provided with Party/Tub Salads. Dinnerware, silverware, and other equipment can be provided at an additional charge.
Q. How much pizza do I need for my group?
A. Generally, our 20” pizzas serve 4-6 people, and the 16” pizzas serve 3-4 people as a meal without any appetizers or side dishes. If you want pizza as a snack or if you’re offering other meal options, it will be more like 6-8 for the 20” and 5-6 for the 16”. If onsite heating is required, you must order 16” pizzas because those will fit into our catering ovens. If you don’t require onsite heating and go with 20” pizzas, we recommend cutting them into 12 smaller slices to minimize waste and allow for more variety.
Q. What is your catering zone?
A. We travel up to 50 miles away from an Ian’s Pizza location. It never hurts to ask if you are further away, but additional fees will most likely apply.
Q. How far in advance do I need to place my order?
A. Like everything else, this depends on our involvement. In general, food-only orders only need one week’s notice, but we do book up fast so sooner is always better. For larger catering events we recommend three months in advance at minimum.
Q. Can I get references?
A. Of course. We are happy to provide references from recent customers.
We realize this might not answer all your questions, but at least it gives you an idea of what we can do (which is, just about anything you need to make your event the best thing ever). If you have other questions or would like to talk further please write to us at Milwaukee@ianspizza.com and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can. If your questions require a response in less than 24 hours please call one of our locations directly.
